Jeffrey W. Zabel, Ph.D.

Dr. Zabel earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He went on to complete his doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Arizona, Tucson. He completed pre-doctoral and post-doctoral internships with a specialty in Rehabilitation Psychology.

Dr. Zabel is trained in adolescent and adult psychological assessment and in individual, family, and group therapy. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adults and adolescents with physical and emotional disabilities, with or without accompanying behavioral difficulties. Dr. Zabel has been a practicing licensed psychologist in Arizona since 2005.

Prior to his move to Tucson in 1980, Dr. Zabel spent five years as the Clinical Director of a non-profit, outpatient facility in Carbondale, Illinois. He was also employed as a Program Coordinator/Therapist for 14 years at New Columbus, Inc., a private agency providing counseling services to juvenile offenders and their families. He left New Columbus in 1995, to open Triumph Counseling Services, Inc. Triumph Counseling provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment services for adults and adolescents, as well as evidenced-based counseling services and early intervention educational programs for the Pima County Juvenile Court. Dr. Zabel works closely with Dr. Burger, who provides contract psychological and neuropsychological assessment services for Triumph.

In his spare time, Dr. Zabel enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren. He also enjoys traveling, and he likes to stay active by golfing, hiking, playing pickleball, and working out at the gym.
